Full-sky Astrometric Mapping Explorer

(FAME)
(early 2000s proposal for an astrometric space telescope)

The Full-sky Astrometric Mapping Explorer (FAME) was a proposed NASA follow-on to Hipparcos, to produce a higher-quality astrometric map of stars. The proposal is from circa 2000 but was canceled before the proposed 2004 launch. Gaia has more recently carried out the function that FAME would have.
