Earth 2.0
(ET)
(planned observatory-satellite to search for Earth-like planets)
Earth 2.0 (abbreviated ET) is a planned Chinese space
observatory to identify exo-Earths.
Plans call for a 2028 launch of a spacecraft with six
28-cm telescopes to continuously monitor over two million
stars (including covering the Kepler field)
for transients indicting transiting planets.
A seventh telescope (35 cm) with a wide field of view will watch
for gravitational microlensing.
The plan is to orbit the L2 Lagrangian point.
