Effelsberg 100-m Radio Telescope

(German large single-dish radio telescope)

The Effelsberg 100-m Radio Telescope is a radio telescope in western Germany that has been in operation since 1972. It has mechanisms to adjust the shape the reflector, to maintain a useful parabolic shape counteracting the sagging from gravity when it is aimed in varying directions. It has numerous receivers, at frequencies including 1.4, 10, and 86 GHz.
