DGP gravity (or DGP model) is a theory of gravity developed in 2000, explaining the same dynamics that dark energy explains. It incorporates an additional space dimension. It is not widely accepted in astrophysics, and a claim has been made that cosmic microwave background (CMB) and baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) observations suggest it is insufficient to eliminate the need for something like dark energy. It was developed by Gia Dvali, Gregory Gabadadze, and Massimo Porrati (thus, the abbreviation DGP).
