(1990s survey of galaxies to z = 1 to find associations of redshift to characteristics)
The Canada-France Redshift Survey (CFRS)
produced a catalog
of over 500 faint galaxies in the range of z = 0 to 1
aiming to be a sample of similar galaxies over a significant range
of lookback times (back 8+ gigayears)
for comparison and contrast, to provide clues to galaxy evolution.
Observation was carried out on the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope (CFHT).
