CETUS

(concept for a 1.5-meter UV space telescope)

CETUS (for Cosmic Evolution Through Ultraviolet Spectroscopy) is a concept for a 1.5-meter ultraviolet space telescope contributed to the 2020 Astrophysics decadal survey. The concept included an imager, a multi-object spectrograph and a high resolution spectrograph, operating at the Lagrangian point L2. A 2029 launch was envisioned.

Cetus is the name of a constellation, and in addition to use of the name for the above mission concept, the name is used in designations of various astronomical objects located in the constellation, such as the Pisces-Cetus Supercluster Complex, as well as a survey field (the Cetus field).
