combined differential photometric precision

(CDPP)
(calculated relation of photometric variation to SNR)

The term combined differential photometric precision (CDPP) has been used for a particular calculation performed in processing Kepler Telescope data. It is a measure of the precision achieved by the processing which includes statistical techniques and accommodation for systematic errors. It can be thought of as the parts per million (PPM) in the brightness measurement associated with an signal-to-noise ratio of 1.
