BCool is a project to study the magnetic field (b) of relatively cool stars (M dwarfs, small M-type stars, which have strong, thus detectable magnetic fields), essentially, to help test theories of the Sun's magnetism, solar cycle, and dynamo, by looking for analogous properties of other stars. Observations focus on spectroscopy and polarization.
