The Astronomer's Telegram (ATel) is a service to inform interested parties about recent transients, such as gamma-ray bursts and supernovae. ATel notifications are e-mailed to recipients, and are posted and archived on the ATel website. ATel service began in 1997 and as of 2024, has published over 16,000 notifications.
