ANU 2.3m Telescope
(Siding Spring 2.3 m Telescope)
(2.3-m telescope at Siding Spring Observatory)
The ANU 2.3m Telescope at Siding Spring Observatory
was built in the early 1980s.
An early name was the Advanced Technology Telescope.
It has been used for education as well as for preliminary
observations before studies using the larger telescopes.
It was automated in 2023, allowing more efficient use, and giving
it the potential for quick follow-ups of transients.
Instruments:
- CASPIR "Cryogenic Array Spectrometer/Imager".
- DBS "Dual-Beam Spectrograph".
- Echelle spectrograph.
- Imager.
- Tiptilt infrared secondary mirror.
- WiFeS "Wide-Field Spectrograph".
